Small room, surprisingly heavy debris

Bathrooms are small, but the materials coming out of them aren't light. Ceramic tile set in a mortar bed, cast iron tubs, cement board and porcelain fixtures add up quickly. For a typical hall bath or primary bath, a 10 yard dumpster for a bathroom remodel has the space you need and keeps the footprint small.

The 10-yard dumpster is $375 with 2 tons included, a 7-day rental, and delivery, pickup and disposal in one flat price. At roughly 12 ft by 8 ft with 3.5 ft walls, it slides into most driveways next to a parked car.

What comes out of a full bathroom gut

Here is what usually ends up in a bathroom renovation dumpster. Mention anything especially heavy, like a cast iron tub, when you call so we can help you think through weight.

  • Wall and floor tile, mortar beds and thinset
  • Fiberglass, acrylic or cast iron tubs and shower pans
  • Vanities, countertops, mirrors and medicine cabinets
  • Toilets and sinks with the water drained out
  • Drywall, cement board and water-damaged subfloor
  • Old fixtures, exhaust fans and packaging from new materials

Flat-Rate Roll-Off Pricing

Delivery, pickup and disposal included. $35.00 fuel surcharge · $110.00/ton over the included weight · $25.00/day extra days · $100.00 per mattress. Full cost breakdown.

When a bigger container makes sense

Doing two bathrooms at once, or pairing the bath with new flooring through the hall? Then the 20-yard dumpster at $455 is worth a look. It carries the same 2-ton allowance but gives you more than twice the room for bulky items. Whole-house projects that include a kitchen should start with our kitchen remodel dumpster page.

Weight is the thing to watch. A lot of tile and mortar can push a load past 2 tons, and overage is billed at $110 per ton. Our dumpster rental cost breakdown explains every fee so nothing on the invoice surprises you.

Tips for a clean demo and an easy pickup

Shut off the water and drain the toilet tank and bowl before pulling it, since liquids can't go in the container. Carry tile out in buckets rather than dumping it all in one corner of the box, and lay the tub flat on the floor of the container. Leftover grout, caulk and adhesives should be fully dry; cans of wet paint or open chemicals stay out. See what you can put in a dumpster if you're unsure.

On pickup day, keep the container clear of cars and trailers. If our driver can't reach it, a $125 dry run fee applies.

Questions We Hear Most

What size dumpster do I need for a bathroom remodel?

A 10-yard dumpster handles most single bathroom remodels at $375, including 2 tons of weight and a full week on site. If you are remodeling two bathrooms or adding other work, a 20-yard at $455 gives you more room with the same 2-ton allowance.

Can I put a cast iron tub in a dumpster?

Yes, cast iron tubs can go in the container. They are very heavy, so place the tub flat on the floor of the box and let us know about it when you book. That helps us estimate whether your total load will stay within the included tonnage.

Can I throw an old toilet in a dumpster?

Yes. Drain all the water from the tank and bowl first, since liquids aren't allowed. Porcelain toilets, sinks and pedestals are all acceptable. Breaking them down isn't required, but laying them flat helps you use the space efficiently. Set them on the floor of the box with the tile.

Is tile too heavy for a 10-yard dumpster?

One bathroom's worth of tile and mortar usually fits within the 2-ton allowance. Problems come when a lot of mortar bed or a second room gets added. Spread tile evenly across the floor of the container and call us if you think you are getting close to the limit.

How much does a bathroom remodel dumpster cost?

Our 10-yard is $375 with 2 tons, 7 days, delivery, pickup and disposal included, plus a $35 fuel surcharge. Overweight loads are $110 per ton and extra days are $25 each. Military and first responders receive 5% off residential rentals with valid ID.

Can contractors book bathroom dumpsters regularly?

Yes. Remodelers and handymen who order often can join our Priority Pro contractor program. We deliver throughout our nine service areas, and booking a few days ahead is the best way to secure the date you want. Call or text 757-250-7985 to set it up.
