Storm Debris Cleanup in Hampton Roads
When a hurricane or nor'easter leaves a mess behind, our storm debris cleanup in Hampton Roads gives you two options: a roll-off you fill yourself or a crew that loads it for you.
- Veteran owned
- 7-day rentals
- Same-day on weekdays when available
- 5% military discount
Two ways to clear storm damage
Every storm leaves a different kind of mess, so we offer two paths. If you have help and a few days, a roll-off container lets you work at your own pace. Pricing is flat: $375 for a 10-yard, $455 for a 20-yard and $550 for a 30-yard, each with 7 days, delivery, pickup and disposal included.
If you'd rather not lift a thing, our junk removal crew loads and hauls the debris for you. Junk removal is quoted by volume, so send a description or a few photos and we'll give you a price. Many homeowners combine the two: a crew for the heavy, waterlogged items and a container for the yard.
Waterlogged materials weigh far more than you expect
Flooded drywall, insulation, carpet and pad soak up water and can weigh several times what they did dry. That matters for wet drywall and carpet disposal, because containers are priced with a set weight allowance: 2 tons on the 10- and 20-yard and 3 tons on the 30-yard, with $110 per ton beyond that.
Where it's safe, let materials drain before loading, and cut carpet into rolls you can carry. Standing water and other liquids can't go in the container. For a flood-damaged first floor, a 20-yard is a common starting point, but call 757-250-7985 and we'll talk through how much you're tearing out.
- Pull carpet and pad first, then cut drywall above the water line
- Bag wet insulation to keep the load manageable
- Drain furniture and rugs where you can before loading
- Keep fuel cans, chemicals and batteries out of the box

Downed trees, limbs and fence sections
High winds bring down limbs, whole trees and long runs of fence. Hurricane debris removal on the yard side is usually bulky rather than heavy, so a 20- or 30-yard container gives you the most room. Cut limbs to manageable lengths and layer them flat. Tree work near power lines or on a roof should be handled by a tree service first; we haul what's on the ground.
Our yard waste dumpster page has more loading tips for branches and brush, and damaged shingles from a roof repair can go in the same container. See roofing dumpster rental if the roof itself needs replacing.
Scheduling honestly after a storm
After a big storm, demand spikes across the region and roads can stay blocked for a while. We don't promise emergency or around-the-clock service. We work Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 6 PM, with Sunday by appointment. Same-day delivery is available on weekdays when a container is open, but never on weekends; weekend deliveries are booked in advance at no extra charge.
The best move is to call early, describe the damage, and get on the schedule. Make sure the drop spot is clear of debris and standing water so the truck can reach it.
Flood-prone neighborhoods we know well
Low-lying and waterfront areas tend to take the hardest hits. We regularly work in Hampton's Buckroe Beach and Fox Hill, Norfolk's Ocean View and East Beach, and Sandbridge and Chic's Beach in Virginia Beach. Our storm debris removal in Norfolk and storm cleanup dumpster in Virginia Beach pages include more local detail.
We also help homeowners in Chesapeake, Newport News, Portsmouth, Suffolk, York County and Isle of Wight County. Call or text 757-250-7985 with photos of the damage.
Questions We Hear Most
Should I rent a dumpster or hire junk removal after a storm?
If you have help and time, a dumpster is usually the most economical way to clear a lot of debris over a week. If you can't do heavy lifting, or the debris is waterlogged furniture and carpet, our junk removal crew can load it for you. Many people use both.
Do you offer 24/7 emergency storm cleanup?
No. We work Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 6 PM, with Sunday by appointment. Same-day delivery is possible on weekdays when a container is available, but not on weekends. Calling as soon as it's safe is the best way to get on the schedule.
Can I put flooded carpet and drywall in a dumpster?
Yes. Wet carpet, pad, drywall and insulation are accepted. They are much heavier when soaked, so let them drain where possible and watch the weight. Liquids, standing water, chemicals and anything that may contain asbestos must stay out. Cutting carpet into rolls makes loading easier.
What size dumpster do I need for storm debris?
For a flooded room or two, a 20-yard at $455 is a common choice. For lots of downed limbs and fencing, the 30-yard at $550 with 3 tons included gives more room. Describe the damage when you call and we will help you choose.
Can you remove fallen trees after a hurricane?
We haul trees and limbs that are already on the ground. Cutting a tree off a house, a roof or a power line should be done by a tree service first. Once the wood is down and cut into pieces, it can go in a container or be hauled by our crew.
How much does storm debris junk removal cost?
Junk removal is quoted by volume and the items involved, so we don't list a flat price. Send a description or photos of the debris and we'll give you a quote. Dumpster rentals have flat pricing starting at $375 for a 10-yard.
